CHAMUNDI HILLS

Our Taxi will reach to your place in the morning to pick you up for the one day trip. After breakfast at the hotel of your choice, we would like to take you the Chamundi Hills. The presiding deity of the Chamundi Hills is Goddess Chamundeshweri. Every Friday more than half of mysoreans visit chamundi hills to seek the blessings from the goddess. There are two routes to visit the hills, the first option is by the road where our car takes you till the temple, and after the darshan, you can move to the next tourist attraction.

WAX MUSEUM

Located at half a kilometers from the sand museum and 2 km’s from Mysore city. This wax museum is entirely a private tourist spot built-in 2010 dedicated to the most celebrated musicians of India. The entry charge here is 30 rs and it the duration to cover this place is 30 minutes. The wax statues of Mahatma Gandhi and the famous king of Krishnaraja Wodeyar is the specialty of the wax museum. And there is one more place called Melody wax museum. You will have experience of entering a haunted house or a devil’s bungalow. After that experience, the next thing you will get to see is our vehicle and our driver. From here one day tour continues towards Karanji Lake.

KARANJI LAKE

Do you love nature and birds? Then Karanji Lake in Mysore is the perfect getaway place for you. It is 2 km’s from Mysore city, and it is the zoo authority of Karnataka undertakes maintenance. This is one of the best lakes in Mysore city spread over 55 acres is surrounded by greenery. There is a large fountain in the middle of the lake that leaps to sky-high. The different species of Indian birds can be seen here for bird lovers. There is also boating and facility available here. You will have a separate experience of nature here. The cost for cycling is Rs.25 per 30 minutes and boating charges is Rs.50/- per person and the entry fees is Rs.10/-. MYSORE ZOO

There is no need to go to some forest or national park. It’s all there in our own Mysore city. The world-famous Mysore zoo was established in the year 1892 spread around the area of 157 acres by the animal lover ruler of Mysore Kingdom Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar. People of Mysore could hear the roar of Lions and Elephants during the night till the early ’90s. Children would sleep in fear of them. Even we have observed the sounds of them. Unfortunately, due to pollution it is not possible to hear those sounds nowadays. This Zoo is located in the heart of the city which makes it easily accessible rom anywhere in Mysore. Electronic car facility is also available to roam inside the Zoo.

MYSORE PALACE

The first thing that comes to anybody’s mind when you hear the word Mysore is the famous Palace. We native mysoreans do not forget to take our relatives and guest to the Palace and show them the illumination of the Palace. The world famous 750 Kg Golden ambari is the prominent attraction of the Mysore palace. This exhibit is used to carry the golden statues of goddess chamundeshwari. This ambari is put out for the exhibition during the Dasara season for the tourists. Mysore city is also known as Palace city, and this is also one more specialty of the Mysore city. This amba Vilas palace is spread over 72 acres of land consisting of 6 main gateways.

ST. PHILOMENA CHURCH

Other two are the madyaranga and Antya ranga. You will have the opportunity of visiting this Aadiranga on this tour. This Temple has a history of 500 years and it was renovated by the donations of Mughal ruler of that period Hyder Ali and his son Tippu sultan. From there we will move to the Tippu’s arsenal where we get to see the artillery used by the Mysore’s Tiger Tippu sultan. All the ammunition were stored here during the Tippu’s ruling period. Studies from the history state that a whole battalion of soldiers was placed to safeguard this arsenal. From here we will proceed to the Mosque where Tippu used to offer his prayers to the god.

DARIYA DAULAT BAGH

During his ruling period, Tippu sultan built this summer palace just for the rejuvenation purpose and named this as Dariya Daulat Bagh. This palace is surrounded by Kaveri River and filled with greenery which impressed Tippu sultan to build a palace here. This magnificent monument is built using 6 glorious Islamic pillars. It is now changed as a museum under the maintenance of Archaeology Department of Karnataka to exhibit the weaponry, currency coins and the oil paintings used during the period.

RANGANATITTU BIRD SANCTUARY

This bird sanctuary consists of 6 small islands and a small barrage has been constructed to aid irrigational lands across the islands. The same has modified as a bird sanctuary which is a favorite picnic spot for the local mysoreans. Birds like kingfisher and others can be watched at this bird watching the place. Birds migrated from different parts of the world come here to this sanctuary that is spread across the area of 40 acres. This place is apt for the bird lovers and also has boating facility to have a closer look at the bird families.

BRINDAVAN GARDEN
